Must-have appliances and gadgets for every kitchen
So yes there a million and one kitchen appliances and gadgets out there. Some work…some don’t. Some are worth the investment and some really aren’t. Alana and I put together our list of favorites as well as our wish list of kitchen essentials (hint hint Christmas is around the corner).
If you want an efficient and pretty looking kitchen, you’ll want to peek at our round-up.
Caffeine Injection Appliances
So Hamilton Beach has been around for many, many years – in fact, I can remember my mom pulling out her circa 1970’s green hand blender on many occasions. They have come a long way baby…
Kettle – for all your coffee and tea drinkers
Fast forward to today, Hamilton Beach has so many awesome products including our number one favorite – the Copper Kettle. Everybody needs a kettle in their house – so why not buy a pretty one?
Both Alana and I are tea drinkers and this rose gold beauty is the perfect addition to any counter top. In fact, it is not only functional, but it can also be considered a beautiful piece of art. I want so badly. Please please. The price point is pretty reasonable.
If rose gold isn’t your thing, their Hamilton Beach 40865C Glass Kettle, 1.7-Litre is equally pretty and the kids love watching the bubbles as the water boils.
Coffee maker for the real connaisseurs
We just found the holy mecca of coffee makers (again from Hamiton Beach) Check out their FlexBrew 2-Way Coffee Maker.
You can brew coffee 2 ways – The coffee maker has a carafe side that brews up to 12 cups and a single brewing side (for K-cups and/or ground coffee). It is a win-win for Alana’s household and probably for yours too!
Spiralizers for the health conscious
So I can’t stress this enough – if you want to a spiralizer, don’t cheap out! I did and ended up losing a chunk of my thumb. Ugh…But I have since smartened up. You can make so many great things besides the typical veggie noodle with a spiralizer – think potato chips..yum.
Anyway, we were lucky enough to attend the Lee Valley Holiday Preview event. Lee Valley has always been highly regarded for its hardware. We had no idea that Lee Valley offers so many other products from gardening, tools, bake and kitchenware and other amazing and unique gifts. At the event, we ran into chef Mike Ward who was doing a demo with the Vegetable Spiralizer.
He was making some beautiful appetizers with zoodles and so of course, I caved in and bought one too! The Paderno Spiralizer seems to be the Ferrari of spiralizers. If Chef says he uses it – it must be good. I can’t wait to try it.
I love, love my NutriBullet NBR-0802 8 Piece High-Speed Blender/Mixer System, Silver.
I can make delicious and nutritious smoothies in a flash. I have even made delicious dips and soups with it. I definitely think every household should have one. Another awesome product to consider is the Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blender 14 oz. which is available in so many fun colors and is a great price point too.
Makes a unique gift idea – in fact, I think I’m adding it to my list this year as well.
Instant Pot (the new slow cooker)
Everyone is buzzing about the Instant Pot® Lux 6-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, 6 Quart | STAINLESS STEEL or Instapot (same thing). The Instapot apparently trumps the slow cooker in so many ways. The Instapot is a pressure cooker that cooks food in a shorter amount of time than the slow cooker and also meals taste so much more delicious – I polled a handful of moms who absolutely can’t live without it. I am definitely splurging on this one!
What kitchen gadgets and appliances do you swear by? We’d love to hear!
